The WIDEX project will organise a Cross-Fertilisation Workshop on 18 June 2026 in Oviedo, Asturias, bringing together European initiatives working on sustainable raw materials, critical minerals, battery materials, rare earths, permanent magnets and collaborative innovation ecosystems.
Held under the title “Advancing Collaboration in Critical Raw Materials and Innovation Ecosystems”, the workshop will provide a space for exchange between projects, clusters, research organisations and industrial stakeholders, with the aim of identifying synergies, sharing lessons learnt and exploring opportunities for future collaboration.
The event will be structured around two complementary sessions. The first will focus on how European research and innovation projects are moving from technical developments towards practical impact in the raw materials sector. The second will explore the role of European hubs and collaborative ecosystems in strengthening value chains, supporting interregional cooperation and improving Europe’s resilience in critical raw materials.
Through this workshop, WIDEX aims to foster cross-fertilisation between complementary initiatives and contribute to the creation of stronger links between research, industry and regional innovation ecosystems.
The event will conclude with a networking lunch, offering participants the opportunity to continue discussions and explore potential cooperation pathways.
