As part of the WIDEX project’s commitment to strengthening TUKE institutional capacities, ICAMCyL, together with Pole AVENIA and ISMC, has successfully led a series of targeted training sessions focused on European project development and strategic research management. These activities fall under the broader framework of WIDEX Strategic Line 3: Research management, coordination, and administrative skills, and have been supported by ICAMCyL, POLE AVENIA, and ISMC.
One of the most impactful sessions, titled “How to Prepare a Successful Project Proposal”, gathered 29 participants from TUKE and was delivered by ICAMCyL with the support of POLE AVENIA. The training offered a comprehensive overview of Horizon Europe and its funding structure, providing practical tools to develop competitive project proposals. The course also covered budgeting, reporting, and strategic alignment with EU priorities, empowering researchers and managers to successfully navigate European funding frameworks.
In parallel, ICAMCyL organized a high-level course on mineral processing techniques, held on 19th and 21st November 2024, which welcomed 41 participants. The training followed a “learning-by-doing” approach and was designed to strengthen the technical know-how of TUKE researchers. The session included hands-on demonstrations and real-case applications in mineral recovery, positioning TUKE staff to take a leading role in CRM-related innovations.
We were honoured to count on the participation of Prof. Juan María Aguado from the University of Oviedo, who contributed his expertise in mineral processing and facilitated a highly engaging and practical learning experience. This course supported Strategic Line 1: Green technologies and methodologies for exploring, recovering, and monitoring CRM mining sites, and was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the project’s Excellence Centres: ICAMCyL, ISMC, IDENER, IKTS, and LAPLAND, each playing a complementary role in knowledge transfer throughout the training cycle.
These efforts are actively contributing to TUKE’s long-term positioning as a European reference in green and non-invasive technologies. The knowledge transferred has not only enhanced the individual skills of the participants but also strengthened TUKE’s institutional capabilities and visibility within the EU innovation ecosystem.
